Request for config help - HAs shooting eachother down

Open wickedgalen opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

Dear creators,

I'm having issues with the data synching between 2 HA Devices (on RPI). I am quite sure the error is on my side, but for now I see not where or how I went wrong/off.

As far as I can tell, I followed your installation guide via HACS for my main & remote instance. Apart from adding to the remote the bit of yaml code, all was done via the HA Menus.

Issue itself: The moment I enable the integration, it seems that both Instances shoot eachother down. Example: RPI CPU Temperature, on both devices. The Temperature value from the main HA flicker between its Temperature and the Temperature value of the remote HA.

Somewhat naturally, HA (main) is thrown on its knees (slowing down immensly). I added a prefix during install, for the remote, which makes it hard to comprehend why this would happen. I was under the impression, that the remote instance would be sort of queried/synched only with prefixed entities ...

Preferably all sensors ... should be available (when prefixed / wanted to be used) on each HA. The remote HA is supposed to act as extension to cover a bigger area. The Idea was to use the main HA for normal Users, and the remote HA as Maintenance device for me.

I would appreciate, if you could point out where I went wrong. Is my Idea bad ? Not what you had in mind?

Let me know if more explanation is needed.

Thank you for your time.

Rename the entity on each HA to reference the location, so when they are imported they don't overlap without needing to prefix
