button-card Install does not work.

HACS automatic install simply does not work.

First instruction is to download button-card.js

file does not even exist in the git repository. ( everything is .ts )

HACS installation not working for you s not really a button-card bug though.

Odd as when I posted that, I tried it first and was able to download the latest version. Failing that, you can go to Releases on the sidebar, click on latest (v4.1.2 as of Feb 2, 2024) and download the .js file there.

As it is a JS file your Browser may be blocking. Copy link and go directly and you probably get a warning to 'Keep' file or not.
