Parinfer sometimes fails to remove the matching paren

Sometimes when you use Delete or Backspace to delete the opening paren, Parinfer fails to delete the closing paren. See the following video.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to provide a code sample for reproducing this, because it's a heisenbug, but I'm seeing it quite often. If I copy the affected code to another file, it likely doesn't happen with the new code. Even restarting IDEA (without invalidating caches) can make it go away for a piece of code.
