Invalid Character following Object Start

After using this in production for well over a year with the same JSON input, we're now getting Invalid Character following Object Start errors when decoding. I've double-checked the JSON input to make sure it is valid.

It seems to me that something may have changed at Shopify's end. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

@btran-zymoresearch reassuring to know that it's not just us. I will be taking a deeper look into this tomorrow so I'll let you know if I find the underlying issue.
