Not working with the newest forge Version

Open BaseCrusher opened this issue 6 years ago • 7 comments

Well, title sais it all.

I updated my client to forge-1.12.2-14.23.3.2659 and since then the added blocks/items don't appear anymore. Creating a cs4mod.json is working fine and it creates all the mod files needed.

I would be happy if you can fix it. :)

It looks like you have to zip your mod in forge 2656+ for it to work. Mods in folders won't load anymore.

There is probably a CustomStuff hater in the Forge's staff. Testing a mod will be hard now.

I'll see if I can find a work-around for this. If not, I already have an idea that only requires minimal changes and doesn't need you to manually zip the mod everytime you change something.

Your mod can zip our mods by itself, if it is loaded before other mods are loaded (and detected) by Forge.

This would explain why my custom Geolosys samples mod wasn't working. You may want to add a warning to the wiki and CurseForge page.

An alert when the game start : "caution, the mod %modname% is not loaded properly" and maybe not a startup crash to prevent massive blocks and items lost on multiplayer servers. I removed a mod recently, SereneSeasons, that adds blocks and items, without any "/fml confirm" request on server startup and any backup done, in 1.12.2, so be careful!

I've found that with this new bug of sorts, adding things to the mod and then later removing stuff keeps the mod broken when you rezip the stuff you know actually works. In otherwords, I can't troubleshoot without making a new mod each time it seems
