Inaccessible alternative glyphs

Open dscorbett opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

The font contains a few glyphs whose names include .alt but there is no way to access them. Was there supposed to be a 'cv01' feature or something like that?

$ ttx -o - -q -t GlyphOrder FRBAmericanCursive-400-Regular.otf | fgrep .alt
    <GlyphID id="2" name="A.alt"/>
    <GlyphID id="177" name="cyr_che.alt"/>
    <GlyphID id="178" name="cyr_che.alt.high"/>
    <GlyphID id="179" name="cyr_che.alt.low"/>
    <GlyphID id="342" name="o.alt"/>
    <GlyphID id="343" name="o.alt.high"/>
    <GlyphID id="344" name="o.alt.low"/>
    <GlyphID id="389" name="t.alt"/>
    <GlyphID id="402" name="u.alt"/>

Those glyphs are artifacts from development…most of them are uglier versions of existing glyphs. However, I will consider adding a salt or cv01 feature in the next release for them. :-)
