Build melodies out of phrases

Currently, it's not possible to play a phrase in isolation. Melodies are built out of constituent parts, but the accumulation of durations happens big-bang at the end.

It would be nice if a part were a sequence of phrases, each of which could be played (and debugged) in isolation.
