I guess your modified transducer is actually the monotonic transduscer in Monotonic Recurrent Neural Network Transducer and Decoding Strategies, rather than neural recurrent aligner. Neural recurrent aligner has no separate predictor and their forward-backward algorithm is just an approximation (history cannot be merged in neural recurrent aligner).
