Mac Gpredict fail on launch

On Mac Mini running MacOS Monterey - I just installed Xcode 13, the developer tools, accepted the license agreement, installed MacPorts, installed XQuartz and installed Gpredict. During the Gpredict install messages kept appearing that the XCode 12 developer tools weren’t installed and thus Gpredict might not compile correctly.

The install finished but when I run Gpredict it bombs with the “GPredict quit unexpectedly” message. Thoughts?
