How to trace update of previously installed and traced program
Hi I am new with Uninstall Tool and need some help. Assuming I have previously installed and traced a program using uninstall Tool, how does one now trace a new update for the program that shows up in the programs help menu ? Can I just use append trace and select the program exe file ?
For example, I have installed Thunderbird and traced the install. A week later, while I am using Thunderbird, I notice when I hit the update button in Thunderbird, that an new update is now available. Do I now go to uninstall tool, go to install and trace, choose the append option and point to the Thunderbird.exe that launches Thunderbird ? Is this the .exe file I should be pointing to and will this pick up and append the changes from the update to the original trace file ?
Or do I need to uninstall Thunderbird, go to the website and install the new version and reinstall it ? I hope that the method in my previous paragraph would work rather than a full uninstall and re-install. Please advise
Thanks and apologies if this seems like a silly question as I am learning

Thanks for the response.
I have seen the image and explanation on the website. But can you explain further in the case of the Thunderbird example as I have described as it is still not clear. Where it says "after specifying an executable file, Install Tracker will proceed with tracing and appending all the new data after the selected executable finishes its job".....using my example, is this referring to selecting the Thunderbird program executable exe file or the executable for the update itself which in my case is not available. In other words can I select the Thunderbird program executable (i.e the exe file that launches the program itself) and then from within the program, proceed with clicking the tab "install update ?
I hope this is clear as I may have to post images if it is not.
Look forward to your response Thanks
In case if an app (Thunderbird) updates itself automatically, you have to run its executable manually: e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe and let it update itself. or download the updated setup and launch it with Install tracker enabled.
