not working with VoiceOver

I have an iMac 12,2, and I'm a blind user. I tested the program on Mac OS 10.13 and it works fine while minimized, just sits there in the menu bar. It does not work in 10.7, I can't minimize the program and I can't even start it. I have tried starting it through the terminal and I think that it starts, but I still don't see it in the menu bar

Can't you upgrade 10.7 to 10.13?

I could, but the point is to have a mac with Lion, not one with High Sierra.
