It's not possible to easily launch the new client via Steam. The problem is that Steam always runs Bin32/Crysis.exe and it's not possible to change that.

Maybe the installer should replace Bin32/Crysis.exe with a symlink to ../CryMP-Launcher.exe? Asking the user first of course.

Or maybe replace Bin32/Crysis.exe with the launcher itself and add an option there to start vanilla game.

Steam Overlay doesn't seem to work. In DX10 at least.
