"Solid Edge is closing because the system is low on memory"
Logging here for public discussion. On my wine installs with the current staging (8.5-lp154.1564.6) SolidEdge will start (and e.g. create a new part) but after a few seconds it will put up a dialog that says "Solid Edge is closing because the system is low on memory", and exit. Fresh installs in a clean prefix (wine64, winecfg change to win11) have not helped. Observed on all versions 2021 thru 2023.
I was caught by this problem too, today. You need to increase the pagefile by editing the registry entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PagingFiles
The format is: < path > < init_size > < max_size >
To solve this problem, I set it to 'C:\pagefile.sys 25 250'.
But nevertheless, Solid Edge cannot store files and it is crashing internally when I'm just leave it running untouched. A dialog will then appear to send debugging information to Siemens Support.
I tried that and set it to e.g. 25 1024 and it still gives the same error :(
Hm.. I disabled some settings in Solid Edge to not show this mouse hover tooltips. Maybe it was one of these settings.
