GNOME Wayland Incompatibility with Wine/Fusion 360

Open cryinkfly opened this issue 8 months ago • 0 comments

Description:

When running Autodesk Fusion 360 via Wine on openSUSE Tumbleweed with the GNOME desktop (Wayland), the application crashes immediately on launch.

In contrast, XFCE works without issues, indicating that the problem is likely related to GNOME/Wayland rather than Wine or Fusion itself.

Environment:

OS: openSUSE Tumbleweed

Wine: 9.x

Fusion 360: latest

GNOME (Wayland): ❌ crashes

XFCE (X11): ✅ works

Workaround:

Use XFCE, KDE, or GNOME on X11 instead of GNOME on Wayland.

Possible cause:

Compatibility issues between Wine GUI rendering and GNOME/Wayland session management.
