Whenever I play a movie or episode from a homescreen widget, the filename is shown instead of the movie/episode title and information

Darn! Could you please also shared your Kodi Video database please? That might shed some light

May issue is that I don't have a system to test direct paths currently 😢

croneter avatar May 02 '21 17:05 croneter

Sure thing, can I email you the database? or should I send it to you on Plex's forums in a PM?

MrDemous avatar May 02 '21 17:05 MrDemous

Kindly send me an email, [email protected]

Is this still an issue with Kodi 19.1 and PKC beta 3.1.4?

croneter avatar May 15 '21 07:05 croneter

Still not working with 3.1.4 and Kodi 19.

Can't test on Kodi 19.1 because I'm using LibreELEC and it hasn't been updated to 19.1 yet.

MrDemous avatar May 15 '21 07:05 MrDemous

LibreELEC just got updated to 19.1 and the issue is still present.

MrDemous avatar May 21 '21 01:05 MrDemous

Did you try another skin?

croneter avatar May 21 '21 04:05 croneter

Yes, I tried Kodi's default skin (estuary)

MrDemous avatar May 21 '21 15:05 MrDemous

I use Google TV with Kodi 19.1 using SMB direct paths. And it works just fine. What the heck?!? There are just too many glitches with Kodi 19 for my taste 😞

croneter avatar May 21 '21 15:05 croneter

Maybe BETA 3.2.1 helps?

croneter avatar May 24 '21 07:05 croneter

Unfortunately, it doesn't :(

I also don't think it's tied to Kodi 19. About a month ago I tried 18.9 for a couple of hours with the exact same config and I think the issue was present in 18.9. Unfortunately, I can't test on 18.9 right now.

Maybe it has something to do with LibreELEC. If you can't find a fix for it then just let it go, it's not a huge issue for me especially if I'm the only one affected by it.

Is this still an issue, @MrDemous ?

croneter avatar Sep 24 '21 14:09 croneter

Unfortunately, it's still happening. It's happening on LibreELEC 10 and Kodi 19.1 on Windows 10 as well.
