Feature Request: Custom Status Effects

It would be great to add these and not have to make the developers get bogged down with every conceivable status. I'd love to be able to add a status effect of "Crippled Right Hand" on the fly. Right now we often use "disarmed" but that's not technically right (and can be easy to forget). It's particularly hard with crippled legs, feet, etc.
