Feature Request: Restrict Metagame Success Roll Information
Is it possible to add an option to have rolls by a GM only display a success or failure for players?
For example, if I roll Dodge 10, as it currently stands, my players could see what the fact that the NPC was trying to reach ten or below, what they rolled, whether it was a success or failure, and the margin. This tells my players practically everything, so its bad as far as metagaming goes.
However, if I just roll as a Private GM roll, then it won't tell them anything, requiring me to personally relay whether it was a success or failure. This adds a little bit more time, especially for text-based games, which is what I run. So was just wondering if it would be possible to display something as just a success or failure along with the number that was rolled, but none of the other meta information that I don't want my players to see. Of course, it would still show the GM everything.
Hmmm. I wonder if we can add a new kind of roll mode... "Limited Private GM Roll". I will investigate.
Alternatively, maybe we can use handlebars to make certain HTML elements invisible unless the user role is 'GM' (triggered by a System Setting). That way we would not need to have another version of the same chat messages.
