Get a list of available updates via command

Open cwldev opened this issue 4 years ago • 1 comments

I'd like to get all running images on my server that diun thinks need to be updated right now.

Might look like this:

diun -currentupdates

All Detected Images Needing Update: alpine wordpress tt-rss mysql caddy:alpine linuxserver/bookstack

Note: The last detected / notified update might be just one thing (mysql), but I'm after a complete list.

First of all, I want to say the obligatory "thank you" for creating and maintaining this tool - I appreciate all you do for the community!

I take it since this is still an open feature request, there is no workaround to accomplish something like this at this time? Evidently I've been looking around for a bit but cannot find a way to accomplish what this is asking for - apologies if I've missed something obvious. This feature request seems to fit most closely what I'm looking for though, thus my comment here.

I experimented with stopping diun, removing the diun.db file and then restarting and seeing what it notifies on, but then it just thought everything was updated (which in hindsight makes sense ;] ).

My use case for this is that I went on vacation, and didn't act on the notifications for a bit. I was also pretty busy with work the week before that and as a result I don't remember when I stopped reacting to the notifications to run updates. So now I don't know which containers need updates and having a list like this would be super helpful! (This is for my home lab, btw. ;] ).
