Looking for additional Task View maintainers
I'm no longer actively working in Epidemiology and while I'm happy to keep the infrastructure running, it would be good to have active practitioners to ensure the listed packages are still relevant to the community and that new packages don't get missed.
@zeileis, is there a specific process for this? Is it okay for me to advertise this, e.g., in the rOpenSci community?
Hugo @Bisaloo, thanks for raising this discussion. Just for clarification: Would you be willing to remain the principal maintainer of the task view or would you prefer to pass this on to someone else?
If the latter, then I think that one of your co-maintainers, Thibaut @thibautjombart and Matthieu @mjrolland, would be the natural candidate for taking over that position.
In addition to that, it might be good to bring 1 or 2 co-maintainers on board who would be willing to help and provide input regarding. If you have ideas about people you could ask for this, that would be useful as well.
I think it makes more sense to step down as principal maintainer in favour of someone closer to the field.
I'm happy to remain involved as a co-maintainer focusing on infrastructure, formatting, etc. but could also leave entirely if the space needs to be left for new maintainers.
I think it would be valuable to keep you on board as co-maintainer. And then we/you can see how your contact to the field develops in the future...
Re: Principal maintainer, what do you think, Thibaut @thibautjombart and Matthieu @mjrolland ?
