seems to use postgresql instead of MariaDB

Hmmm, I installed docker-gitlab, and I'm seeing Postgres instead of MariaDB.

Hi @wjanssen,

Thank you for your feedback. You are right, starting with version 10.6.4-0051 Synology migrated from MariaDB to Postgres.

I switched from the Synology maintained image to the official gitlab/gitlab-ce image a while ago. Therefore I don't think I can verify the Readme myself anymore. Would you mind checking how far you come with the current version of the Readme? I suspect that only the DB_TYPE variable needs to be changed.
