Sparse data in dropbox synced tcx

Open andersfrisk opened this issue 7 years ago • 6 comments

Hi

I hope I have not missed a thread regarding this.

Since beginning/mid december 2018 my tcx-files, synced from Garmin Connect to dropbox by tapiriik, have really sparsed data. Earlier, a tapiriik exported tcx-file (depening on training time of-course) could be about 1.5 Mb, it is now only 0.15-0.3 Mb. When the data is anlysed the time between data-points in the tcx have increased from 3-7 (due to settings in watch) to about 20-30 seconds.

If i export the tcx file from Garmin Connect, for the same workout, the file size is much larger then the tapiriik file, and the data-set is much more "high-resolution".

Any ideas what this could be? I would much rather have all available information from Garmin exported to my TCX, and not have Tapiriik do some sparsing while exporting this file.

i have two pictures for this, 181216_fr_GC is exported from Garmin Connect by me, the other one is exported by tapiriik.

Hi @andersfrisk, It is the known issue. This happens because tapiriik was recently upgraded to use new api endpoint to fetch training data. The same endpoint Garmin Connect web UI uses to display track on map. Fairly they have made some optimisation here. I already developed this but run out of time to do some testing. Hope I will be able to create pull-request to fix that soon.

I noticed the same problem, I sync to dropbox, strava and ridewithgps from garmin connect. Files were 6-40MB tcx up to 11/11/2018, and 160-220k after 11/17/2018. Hopefully there will be a simple way to reupload since that point after a fix is available (maybe simply deleting from destinations will cause tapiriik to resync?)

Thanks

Pleeease...

Low res data out of garmin connect is near useless. A downgrade would be great, just revert to the way it was done.

Thanks!

hi, i have not used tapiriik for a while due to this - does anyone know if this is still an issue, or has it been resolved?
