picture are cropped in the viewer by default

When viewing picture, the thumbnails at the bottom force its cropping. I guess most ppl won't even know that and will only see partial pictures. Can the default be changed (ie. no thumbnails by default) ?

Do you mean the small thumbnails (the stripe at the bottom & album page) or the main picture in the viewer ?

If the latter it is a bug. If the former, it is on purpose as it makes for a more uniform album & thumbnails when mixing portrait & landscape pictures (all squared by cropping). Is there a particular reason why you'd want them with their original proportions ?

I mean the main picture is cropped because of the space used by the thumbnails...

Ok. I think we have to change the photo viewer. You can hide the thumbnails by clicking on the bottom left button (three grey squares).

I know I can hide them, but ppl to who I send a link don't, and most probably only see cropped pictures. :(. I've just had the problem where the subject was on the side of the picture, and invisible by default...

Ok. I think it's time to change the viewer to a more minimalist one.

That one looks good and very customisable:
