No "reinstallation" button on broken apps

Open Phyks opened this issue 8 years ago • 2 comments

Hi,

When an app is broken and the user tries to start it, there is a popover stating that they should try reinstalling it. The "reinstallation" link sends the user to the "my apps" page, where this is no "reinstall" link. Indeed, for such a broken app, there is only a "view log" and "uninstall" button.

Reinstallation is basically just uninstalling and installing again, so it works. But for a non-tech user, not having an overview of the way cozy works, it is very unclear this will actually just perform a reinstallation of the app, keeping their files and settings in place. Actually, when clicking on the "uninstall" button next to emails, I was not very sure I would not have to setup my email accounts back after installation.

I think a "reinstall" button or an alert box on uninstall stating that even if the app is uninstalled, all files and settings will be kept, would improve a lot the UX on this particular point :)

Definitively a smart suggestion we should include into next refactoring of the home page, thanks @Phyks ! /cc @jsilvestre

Thank you, I added it to the fridge so we don't forget it in our work on Home!
