DataKind DC DataJam / hackathons scratchpad

This issue serves as a scratchpad for refining ideas --> work that would be conducive for DataKind participants to engage in.

Per https://gitter.im/covid19-healthsystemcapacity/community?at=5e7aa947f0db8d68d44a9863:

we estimate 70 participants but we have never done a virtual 2 hour event like this so that is a very rough guess. for the 2 hour duration I only expect to get everyone up to speed on the project, figure out people's interests and skills, and assign issues. OH - that 70 people will be spread across 5 projects. I expect whatever volunteers are interested in this project to continue to work after that initial 2 hours. I will coordinate follow ups and checkins. so that initial 2 hours will really just be an onboarding and kick off

and

anything that has data and clearly defined deliverables. what's really needed is strong technical leadership to guide volunteers to tasks that they can take on, so matching skills to needs.

Initial thoughts at https://gitter.im/covid19-healthsystemcapacity/community?at=5e7b9c5c8b3f2e1f95d341cd:

Things I was thinking there: how do we label issues to help navigate based on skillset and level of difficulty? How do we differentiate between fairly tightly scoped, well defined issues that relate to the codebase now, vs more exploratory issues that will take more consideration of how a potential solution can integrate?
