Plugging new external (USB) HDD mutes mouse interactions

Octopus.Covalition 2.0.1.2 on Windows 8.1 64 bit Hi, thank you for developing octopus. If Octopus is running while I plug in an external HDD over USB (tested with two different devices), the application mutes mouse interactions (no indication for unresponsive UI like throbber of death, but e.g. no reactions on clicks, scrolling). Using the Alt key to access the menu bar works.
