gnu libc version too old? GLIBC_2.29...2.35 not found
I'm at Alma 8.10 and the version of ldd is 2.28.
I downloaded the binaries included cbsh-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu.tar.gz. and when running $ ./cbsh –version, I have these.
./cbsh: /lib64/libc.so.6: version GLIBC_2.29' not found (required by ./cbsh) ./cbsh: /lib64/libc.so.6: version GLIBC_2.32' not found (required by ./cbsh)
./cbsh: /lib64/libc.so.6: version GLIBC_2.33' not found (required by ./cbsh) ./cbsh: /lib64/libc.so.6: version GLIBC_2.34' not found (required by ./cbsh)
./cbsh: /lib64/libm.so.6: version GLIBC_2.35' not found (required by ./cbsh) ./cbsh: /lib64/libm.so.6: version GLIBC_2.29' not found (required by ./cbsh)
Any suggestions are really appreciated.
Hello @songr1wawa, this looks like the OS you are using is quite old. Are you able to upgrade to alma 9.3, this appears to use glibc version 2.35 which should be sufficient to run cbsh.
Hi Jack, thank you for reaching out.
Going to Alma 9.3 is not very feasible to us as I have whole bunches of boxes running on Alma 8.x and CentOS 7.x…
Questions: for the cbsh v1.x, any Linux kernel requirements ? and besides upgrading to Alma 9.3, the other alternatives I can consider ?
Thanks Richard

@songr1wawa I see, you could clone the repo and build from source on the OS that you are looking to use then you'd have a binary that can run on your machines. You'd just need to install cargo, clone the repo and then run cargo build in the top level of the repo.
