probe angle

Open anupamgarg opened this issue 7 years ago • 1 comments

we're designing a holder for our probes and were wondering about the angle the electrode comes off the probe - is it guaranteed to be parallel to the probe base? any points of reference for the probe angle that we can use to mount the probe would be very helpful. thanks!

The probe is guaranteed to be aligned with the "silicon spacer" - the mirror-like 9x5mm piece at the bottom of the PCB, which covers the probe base. So in principle you want to attach directly to that. I instead attach to the back of the rigid PCB, where it meets the brown flex (see here), since it is more convenient and preserves a thin-as-possible profile for the end of the device near the shank. However in at least one case it seemed that this rigid PCB was not very flat - so there can be a problem from relying on that. If I want to use that particular probe with the curving PCB I'll have to get a new scheme...
