What other dyes have people tried?

Hi! We're thinking to do experiments with DiR or DiO (eg to track multiple probe insertions), and so I was wondering... has anyone tested the other dyes with the NP probe?

We've used DiO some but I had the feeling it is less reliable, or in any case I may have done something wrong with it at least once - so just check that it is working for your imaging setup before committing precious brains.

Btw if you plan to clear the brains (e.g. with iDISCO) and do volumetric imaging for histological identification, you can use CM-DiI, which is modified so that it stays around during the clearing process.
