Keeping craniotomies healthy over multiple days?

Hi everyone,

Whereas previously I'd been mostly using ~500 um burr hole craniotomies, I've recently been experimenting with larger multi-mm craniotomies of the type one would do for a cortical window. This works fine for the first day, but the brain doesn't seem to stay very healthy if it is just coated in Kwik-Cast. Does anyone have suggestions for how to keep the brain healthy for longer with large craniotomies?

Edit: someone suggested using a drop on silicon gel (3-4680, Dow Corning) on the craniotomy, then applying Kiwk-Cast.
