kilosort version for unknown geometry

Hi, I want to record electrophysiogy data from chronic wire bundles that have 64 contacts. The same unit can be picked up on different channels. I saw an older closed thread on this https://github.com/cortex-lab/KiloSort/issues/69 . Can someone please tell me whether there is any better way to handle such data amongst Kilosort 1-4 ? Are the recommendations in the above mentioned thread still the best ?
