Support PureVPN

Open OpenSourceAnarchist opened this issue 5 years ago • 4 comments

I'm not sure how much effort this would take, but PureVPN is a pain in the ass to use on Linux based on my own personal experience. They provide an official CLI client for Fedora and Ubuntu, which works fairly well, but setting up the OpenVPN config files is a hit-or-miss process that I've never gotten to work completely. I haven't been able to test using their provided configs with qomui as I have yet to switch over to Arch Linux, but their OpenVPN config files are located here.

While it is easy to setup PPTP connections on virtually any Linux distro, I would prefer being able to use OpenVPN. My issue with setting them up is that some servers support P2P and certain protocols while others do not. Unfortunately they are the most affordable no-logging VPN, and if qomui is able to function as a drop-in replacement for their outdated Linux guides and buggy software, that would make my life much easier!

I'm planning to add more providers and PureVPN is actually on my shortlist. Currently, I have no subscription with them, though, which makes it hard to test it.

Having troubles to configure Qomui with PureVPN... @OpenSourceAnarchist were you able to configure Qomui with PureVPN. Can't find any guide to configure it...

@corrad1nho I could lend you access to my account of PureVPN for 1 month so you can add PureVPN to the providers' list... how do we share information?

In the meantime... @Fluke667 would share how did you configure Qomui with PureVPN?

Just add the Old or the New Configs from purevpn than Choose Port UDP 53 and Overwrite Settings....

My Renamed Configs (Nicer Names) Looks better in Qomui https://transfer.sh/nWO6y/purevpn.com.zip

Than Delete your /usr/share/qomui/flags/ and Download this here: https://transfer.sh/FMUjF/flags.zip Qomui only have 81 Flags included my installation have 193 Flags and they are better Optimized.
