Bypass doesn't work on ubuntu 19.10

I recently upgraded to Pop!_OS 19.10 (ubuntu 19.10) and am since having some issues with Qomui. I installed the 0.8.3 deb file for xubuntu 19.04 and everything worked fine when I was on 19.04. After the upgrade I can no longer use the vpn bypass feature. When I run cgexec -g net_cls:bypass_qomui $my_command from the terminal, I get no error and my command executes. But the process I started does not bypass the vpn. I would love to provide any logs, but I don't know where I can find related logs.

I have similar issue with thunderbird on ubuntu 20.04. Cannot bypass the vpn. Fail to login to imap server. Have you resolved your issue?
