Why capture groups is not supported?

Curious about why the capture groups is not supported, is that too hard to achieve?

My understanding is that it has to do with the double escaping which is necessary. Apologies for being inactive, once the first few things were done I realized its going to take me a long time to become familiar with the codebase so I've been not doing as much yet

I've looked at the code and I believe that it is simply not implemented. You could try adjusting your ugly regex as much as you want but it won't work.

However, I do not believe that it would be too hard to achieve. I think it would be definitely be possible. It would require a little bit more data and computation, but I'm sure it can be done.

I think this feature could add a lot to this extension, please add it.
