Audio fails to output via USB
- iOS version: 11.1.2
- iDevice model: iPhone 8 Plus
- electra version: Any
When in a jailbroken state, music cannot be played via USB such as in my car stereo or my home theater system. Using the lightning to Aux dongle works fine. It is not my cable, and is not my stereo as I've went as far as soldering on a new USB port w/ data to no avail.
It is not any tweaks I have installed as I've tested both with absolutely nothing installed as well as in Safe Mode with no success.
To properly output audio, I need to reboot to a nonjailbroken state which is a major inconvenience. There are a plethora of other users experiencing this on a wide range of devices, iOS Versions and Electra versions. It has occurred ever since the first beta version of Electra.
No updates on this?
Any fix on this serius issue;
Related? Issue in my car...
iOS: 11.2.6 iDevice: iPhone 7 Plus (global) Electra version: Any
Scenario: I have a 2012 Kia Optima with a proprietary Kia USB /audio to 40 pin cable that is then run into a 40 pin to lightning adapter (Apple). I have used this setup with iPhone 5, 5s, 6 Plus and 7 Plus and it has worked fine until applying the Electra JB to the 7 Plus. When I plug the phone in I get the usual “Connecting to Device...” message followed by “No files found”.
Streaming over Bluetooth does work. The big difference is while connected via USB I would be able to see playlists, song tiles etc. This and the fact that it’s charging during playback are major reasons I would prefer not to stream over Bluetooth.
All that said I still want to thank all developers that have contributed to this jb.
Update: I wanted to note this issue persists even at reboot before running electra to enable jb/tweaks. I have tested in a 2011 Kia Forte with same results and in a 2015 F150 with USB where it will start to play then stop after 10 -15 seconds with the message “unknown file”. Both other vehicles again work with Bluetooth playback just not USB.
