Issue error message when route_id or route_name property does not exist

We currently just print nulls.

@mattwigway to clarify: Is this ticket referring to the case where the route_id and route_name are bound to shapefile attributes, and that attribute does not exist or for a particular shapefile feature the attribute is not defined?
