Configurable join/part notifications
Some rooms have a large number of occupants with periods of relatively few messages. Even with collapsing of consecutive leaves/joins, it can still display pages of presence notifications.
jcbrand: I guess that would be one configuration of showing join/leave.
Show for: 1. all 2. only unaffiliated 3. nobody
Rationale for (2): affiliated users are more like permanent regulars in the room. Even if they are offline at the time a message it is sent, it is likely they will return and e.g. use MAM or receive push notifications. Unaffiliated users may be "passing through", it's useful to know when someone new joins the room, and if they leave they may not return or see any messages you send to them.
Is this still on the roadmap? 4.1.2 was just released and this is 4.0.4 and open. Probably time to cleaup milestones and re-schedule or remove milestone tags from open issues in closed milestones.
