Update installation instructions to use podman in a WSL machine
This has been previously discussed in a podman issue.
On the (Podman Installation)[https://podman.io/getting-started/installation] page, for installing podman in a WSL machine, the article (How to run Podman on Windows with WSL2)[https://www.redhat.com/sysadmin/podman-windows-wsl2]. Though the article is well written and a good starting point, some information is outdated. Suggestion is to add comments on the installation page:
- [ ] The config file does now reside on
/usr/share/containers/containers.conf - [ ] optional, since this is not a Podman issue but still helpful Default for WSL machines might be WSL1, not WSL2 and emphasize, that users should check this and change it as necessary.
- [ ] optional, since this is not a Podman issue but still helpful Since most users may run instances serving some process on a port in the Linux machine, ports are not automatically accessible via the localhost of the Windows machine.
@baude PTAL, could you get the original updated?
You might also want to reference the new article: https://www.redhat.com/sysadmin/podman-windows-wsl
@baude FYI, can you update your post or should we add a new and improved one?
Both of these articles are probably outdated now with the release of Podman 4.0.
