Consider drafting a new release (or document no intention to release any time soon)
The last release of podlet is over a year ago, which means that most artifacts are quite old and do not reflect the current status of podlet. E.g., #122 has been merged which was quite much-requested.
If no new release is planned anytime sooner, maybe the README could be adjusted to point this out and that it's recommended to install from git for now? E.g., we're doing:
cargo install \
--git 'https://github.com/containers/podlet'\
--rev '7f2c9c4b012dece5fa00be2aba13b8556d579c79' \
'[email protected]+git-7f2c9c4'

I don't know what happened, but his last recorded activity on github, as far as I can tell, dates from december of last year. I have no idea if he is still interacting through the IRC or any other means of communication. For now, I guess the project seems in limbo, which is a shame since it looked really promising :(. I haven't been able to find anyone discussing this online, so if you guys find any insights on what happened, it would be be lovely to lmk. Hope the dev is doing well and comes back to tell us himself !
