Not possible to perform dual gmail account login

Open vatterspun opened this issue 7 years ago • 4 comments

Setup: Firefox 59.0.2, Win7x32

Background: So one great thing about containers is that you can setup two separate tabs logged into separate service instances. Unfortunately I think contain-google is interfering. I have a bunch of other plugins that might be the culprit here but thought I'd post about this first just in case this is either a known issue or expected behavior.

Steps:

  1. Open a container item and login to gmail.com
  2. Open another container and visit gmail.com to log into another account

Defect: Pushes to the same tab and logs into the account from step 1.

Expected behavior: Login to gmail twice, cookies and any other site data are saved separately.

Workaround: open a private browsing session.

I am sorry, but we are not going to support this at the moment. Use your own ruleset with Multi Account Containers instead of the Contain Google addon if you need more gmail accounts.

Have you tried opening the work (or personal) email in a private browsing session (the workaround mentioned above)? That's been more than adequate for my purposes and might be more secure.
