Can we add new types of switch in this system?

Hi, I am planning to use containernet for switch architecture exploration. Is it possible to a new type of switch in this system? Say for example I have written a C program that represents the behavior of a new switch architecture. Now can we plugin the executable of the C program in the containernet system?
