Plugin has no effect

Hello there, I've tried the plugin with Vim mode enabled or disabled, and it has no effect whatsoever. I see the notice appear, but the editing mode doesn't change, regardless of the command. Before trying the plugin I tried with CustomJS and things like editor.setOption("vimMode", true) but that didn't work either. Maybe for the same reason?
