Format for writing the specification docs

Do we want to write these docs in Latex to create nice-looking PDFs (e.g. Whisper systems XEdDSA spec) or do we want maintain raw TXTs (e.g. Tor spec)? I have a slight preference for Latex because of its richer text formatting features.
