Images for 3.0.1 release

Open C0urante opened this issue 9 years ago • 8 comments

Could we get new images up for the 3.0.1 release, specifically for Schema Registry? Would like to bump from 3.0.0 to 3.0.1 in the Kafka-BigQuery Connector but our integration tests use Docker and we'd like to make sure everything runs smoothly before making the jump.

@C0urante I think they are in the works right now. I think @arrawatia might know more.

Has anyone considered automating the build image process from Confluent's Jenkins? I've done it using Travis, and the results were great.

@C0urante Looks like there is a new repo here and Docker Hub. Good luck!

This is confusing with two repos that seem to have the same purpose -- "cp-docker-images" and "docker-images"... what's going on here?

@dsmiley and @C0urante - these images will not be updated going forward. Please refer to our new fully supported images available here: https://github.com/confluentinc/cp-docker-images.

Okay; presumably this one will be removed or giving a redirection landing page to not confuse people? Why a new repo? Just looking for a little insight.

@dsmiley - a few reasons, namely:

  1. These images were always meant to be experimental / for development use only and we wanted to separate them from the new images that we are going to be officially supporting for our customers.
  2. We wanted to use a new naming convention for the images and wanted the repo name to be consistent.

Apologies for any inconvenience.
