Hey @jasimsulaiman, just FYI - I needed this functionality in my app, and I also needed event-based polling (https://github.com/confluentinc/confluent-kafka-go/pull/518). So I merged this change into my tree on top of the event-based polling change. It's a bit of a messy merge, but it's here if anybody else needs it: https://github.com/zendesk/confluent-kafka-go/commit/0a852762fcdd5792b2f74081aeb8b9c90ddfb949
