Exiting popup by clicking on canvas causes selection loss

Problem: Exiting a popup (like the colour picker or the on-canvas insert menu) causes selection loss.

Solution Prevent this from happening, for our own popups.

Implementation notes I strongly suggest making this configurable for us (rather than eg adding it to our on-click-outside HOC)
