Problem Closing some popups requires a click outside them. That causes selection loss. ?? Exiting inputs by clicking on canvas also causes selection loss??

Solution Try preventing that and see how it feels.

NB: As originally written, this was about input focus. I've checked this, and neither Sketch nor Figma do this (and I believe for good reason). Sketch even goes so far as to apply the properties while you're still editing.

We should talk about this as it relates to all inputs. But for closing any kind of popups (eg the colour picker, eg the new insert mode ones, eg react-select in the omnibox) it's a no brainer. For others (eg the font dropdown, eg the dependency selector) it's less clear to me what the right behaviour should be.
