Ask local people for non-geocoord missing pictures
Ex: Ask people in Japan for pictures of Japanese dishes missing a picture. Also for architecture? Any other suitable topics?
It could start from a finer territorial subdivision.
This is a good idea. I wonder how this could be implemented?
In 'Settings' could we have a tick-box saying "Allow Commons to prompt me when pictures are needed for local (non-geotagged) images."?
What would 'feed' the prompt? Does Wikimedia have a method for stating what needs these types of photos? Perhaps an RSS feed? I guess the user would have to be able to specify a limit to how many times they are asked to contribute an image, so they don't feel like they are being spammed. Additionally, the user must be able to say they don't want to contribute to the prompt for a certain image. For example, they may never have the opportunity to submit the image, because of access restrictions, or they may not be interested for some other reason, in contributing in response to the request.
