[Bug]: Change of focus loses work in progress

Summary

If I view another app, then any work in progress in this app is lost

Steps to reproduce

1. Select image(s) to share
2. Share to app
3. Enter metadata for one or more images
4. Switch to another app (for example, to check the spelling of a name)
5. Cannot switch back to Commons app with the same state that it was left; whatever was typed is lost; images are no longer selected

Expected behaviour

The user should be able to return to the app and continue from where they left off.

Cannot.

I totally agree, this is very frustrating!

State should be remembered (maybe in database?) and survive low memory kicks and ideally even reboots.

It will take a lot of effort to implement&test&maintain unfortunately, and we are all taking care of this app in our spare time. 😔
