Woodster 2 bandsaw repair/commissioning
We got a Woodster 2 BS 412 from @Jrosy a while ago and I finally had time to take another closer look at it this week :-)
Success:
- switch unit mounted under the table
- case cleaned from year-old dust
- dry run: motor & wheels run true and quiet
Missing parts:
- we only have one compatible sawband at the moment
- dust extraction is possible by squeezing a festool hose in there, but an adapter that really holds the hose should be made
Problems:
- the bottom blade guards are pretty hard to reach or see - we definitely need to include new photos in the introduction and may think about some kind of helper/feeler tool
- the top thrust bearing was completely shredded 🤕
Checklist (to be continued!):
- [ ] design & make a Festool vacuum adapter
- [ ] replace thrust bearing (608ZZ, @LukasFreeze will bring one)
- [ ] document/improve(?) blade guide alignment
- [ ] test cuts with existing blade
- [ ] buy & document additional blades
- [ ] further commissioning in the wiki
