Oaks lab door can break the game mechanic
Hi there,
I have noticed an issue with the game mechanic. If you surf to Pallet Town after capturing MissingNo, the door to Oaks Lab is not locked, but you can enter normally (it is locked if you e.g. fly there). The aide challenges you upon entry. If you leave after you've beaten him (e.g. to heal), the door is now locked. After force opening the door with the crowbar now, the lab is empty and the other two NPCs are missing.
It seems you are unable to progress with the story from this point on. I haven't found a way to make the NPCs reappear at least.
Besides this, congratulations and big thanks for this awesome ROM hack. It's a real gem!

@VeldraT I just managed to scrap a previous saved state from a backup. No way to fix it in the game that I found though.
Guess that depends on your phone and backup strategy/capabilities. My save was on a desktop machine though, so can't really help you there – sorry!
Bro @mpgirro , have you solved the problem yet? i meet the same problem as you and i solved it. after catching missingno, you should fly to pallet town, don`t surf!. after fly the door should be locked and u use the crowbar, the staff member will be there to fight u. and you can proceed the game from there.
@Aldridge13 My issue was that I had no safe game from before Missingno to reset to, so I could not apply the working mechanic. Had to replay the entire game up to this point 😅
I also had this problem, but was able to work around it. Seems the game loads the wrong warp event for the lab door if you enter Pallet via surf. Entering the unlocked lab and leaving it again will cause the door to be properly locked and crowbar-able. The empty lab at that point feels intentional. From there, I was able to progress by checking the bookshelf on the back wall, second space from the right. I believe I had to check it twice for it to let me press the switch. Hope this helps.
are you making a new season or part of the game like us breaking out of prison and finding are old Pokémon?
Still reproducible. Here's a savestate right before the glitch can be triggered, just save north to pallet town (ideally avoid the trainers).
